We offer The British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

Overview
Our curriculum has been thoughtfully selected to guide the daily experiences at Millie's International School. A rich learning environment is developed in the classroom as children and teachers engage in meaningful conversations, stories, singing, creative activities and outdoor play; engaging the whole child. Each day is specifically balanced to provide teacher and child-centred experiences which lead to group and individual hands on exploration.
Children are given the utmost care and attention. All children are encouraged to co-operate in small groups so that social skills, personal relationships and confidence can be developed.
Our School is essentially a place where children will have friendship and fun, where they will be involved with discovery, creative and imaginative play, both of a structural and open ended nature. Children have opportunities for free play enabling them to make their own decisions and develop independence.
Children are encouraged to explore and investigate a wide range of opportunities using a variety of materials and media. These are chosen to reflect good design and quality and to be educationally stimulating. Activities vary according to age groups and cover many aspects of learning. Some of the activities on offer include sand, dough, clay, water play, cooking, creative work using paint and a variety of materials. There are also role play areas. Children participate in 'news' telling, storytelling and 'show' and 'tell' sessions to further develop their language and communication skills. They are involved in cultural activities, fitness, music and early science.
Educational television and radio programmes are used occasionally as well as video and audio, to which the children have access. They are also able to have use of a variety of ICT equipment such as computers, digital camera, walkie talkies, digital microscope, cash tills, Karaoke machines, electronic robots, microwave, washing machines etc. to help aid their technological skills development.
With structured learning through play, children become familiar with solving problems and developing awareness in technological and scientific thinking. Introducing children at a young and absorbent age to simple mathematical concepts will enable them become increasingly proficient in language and communication skills and develop the pre-reading and pre-writing skills essential to their further development.
MIS has a large outdoor play area that is well equipped with age appropriate play equipment; making playtime entertaining, engaging and safe for the children. Children are encouraged to climb, run, slide and ride. These activities develop hand-eye coordination, increase strength as well as stamina.
Each child is given equal opportunity to gain the maximum benefit from these activities so that they will access the broadest, most balanced, relevant experiences that can be offered.
From time to time, children will also be taken on purposeful outings which are often used as a stimulant for discussion for art work.
Weekly plan of activities are displayed in each class.
