Curricullum Intent

Our aim is to provide our children with an exciting, engaging and empowering curriculum that prepares them for today and tomorrow.

Helping pupils fulfill their potential in all aspects of their development is our starting point. Pupils at MBIS are supported to develop a keen sense of self-identity and positive self-esteem.  Internationalism is highly valued and students develop good understanding of their multicultural world. Academic excellence is achieved through high but achievable pupil expectations, strong motivation, a challenging curriculum, constant encouragement and excellent teaching. Our school offers friendly and imaginative environment where students are encouraged to discover and develop individual excellence.

Here at Millie’s, we introduce children to the joys of education and prepare them not only for formal education, but for a life of learning. We teach children not only the common core standards, but exceed the standards.  Through this, we hope to develop confident and resilient students through the provision of a diverse range of learning experiences and challenges which encourage curiosity, excitement for learning and thirst for knowledge. We take a holistic approach to the education of our children and during their time with us they make excellent academic progress. But the outcomes we achieve are much more far reaching than this; we also place great emphasis on developing the whole child through focusing on good manners, honesty, showing respect, cooperation and collaboration, taking responsibility for themselves and others, doing the right thing, being kind and generally being good people and good citizens. It’s wonderful to see them flourishing and thriving during their time at school.

Our educators are called upon to develop confident, happy, resilient, and enthusiastic youngsters who aim high and who are ready to influence the world. We want our pupils to be inspired by what they learn in order to develop wings to fly as educated global citizens. We have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and adopt a solution-focused approach to overcome obstacles and enable all children and adults to achieve their full potential. We encourage children to be confident, independent learners, with ‘growth mindsets’ who understand that achieving success requires effort, practice and perseverance and that making mistakes is an essential part of the learning process.
